Native of Riverdale, GA and resident of Huntsville, AL, Afu Okosun is a former licensed counselor, author and social entrepreneur. Afu began his journey upon realizing his lifelong dream of professional football had come to an end. He played collegiate football and graduated from Alabama A&M University in Huntsville, AL, While there, Afu received a B.S. in Urban Planning with a concentration in Construction Management (2010) and M.S. in Counseling Psychology (2014). While receiving his masters, he authored, King Without A Crown (2013), a self-help book for those seeking true purpose and direction in life. His second book, Scared Of Success: The Truth To Realizing Success In A Millennial World (2015), speaks to the lessons learned for young people on the road to personal success. Needing a larger platform to spread his message, Afu created Soul Sessions, a social engagement platfrom for urban millennials to discuss topics ranging from sexuality to spirituality. This has seen Afu influence, create and curate urban, millennial content in his part of southern America for national platforms such as Blavity, and several online blogs and publications.

Building on the impact of Soul Sessions, Afu created Co.Sessions, a life skills development programs that empowers communities through entrepreneurship. This pilot program is being introduced in partnership with The Company Lab, a non-profit startup accelerator in Chattanooga, TN, in January 2016, and works with elderly, disabled residents to improve overall wellness and address community issues. During this time, Afu also worked with the city's digital inclusion program, Tech Goes Home, to combat the digital divide in low-income communities.

Continuing to grow his platform, Afu looks to use his creative vehicles to foster wellness, social equity, entrepreneurship and inclusion in the communities he serves.

"Focus on the work."
